Motivation towards product compliance

The motivation towards product compliance comes mainly from three areas.

The most important of these (as it is directly associated with a liability risk) is the legal area. In the eyes of the law, "non-compliance" is a direct breach of an existing law and has, in addition to the penal consequences, a variety of consequences specific to the company (loss of certification and/or loss of a contract).

Just as serious is non-compliance with respect to the product requirements of the market and the customer. These are immediately punished and, alongside the damage to reputation, often cause physical damage of considerable costs and, in worst case scenarios, loss of customers.

Product compliance has already become an indicator in supplier assessments performed by customers. The importance of this point has risen dramatically in the last few years; this is why "Product Compliance" now plays such a key role in product tendering.
